Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and passionate CrossFit Kids Coach / Kids Fitness Coach to inspire children and young adolescents to develop healthy habits, build confidence, and have fun through dynamic fitness programs. In this role, you will lead engaging, age-appropriate workouts that promote physical activity, teach fundamental movement skills, and foster a positive attitude towards health and fitness. You will follow the programming given to you on a monthly basis.Your enthusiasm and expertise will motivate young participants to reach their full potential while ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all. We will train you.
This is a great position for someone looking for extra cash or looking to break into coaching fitness to kids. Classes to be coached are on Saturdays 10:30am & 11:30am and Thursdays at 4:40pm. Ages 5-9 is one class on Saturday and the other 2 are ages 10-17.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver fun, effective fitness classes tailored to children’s developmental stages, incorporating elements of CrossFit, body mechanics, and sports coaching.
- Lead group activities that include bodyweight exercises, basic gymnastics, agility drills, cycling, dancing, yoga, Pilates, and kickboxing-inspired movements to promote overall fitness.
- Educate kids on proper exercise techniques, anatomy basics, physiology principles, and the importance of health and wellness in an engaging manner.
- Monitor safety during all activities by ensuring correct form and adherence to gym safety protocols.
- Foster a motivating environment that encourages teamwork, confidence-building, and personal achievement among participants.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and communicate progress or concerns with parents or guardians when appropriate.
- Stay current with industry trends in group fitness, youth sports coaching, and health club programming to continually enhance class offerings.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, body mechanics, and program design tailored for children’s fitness needs.
- Experience teaching group fitness classes or coaching sports with a focus on youth development.
- Proficiency in CrossFit methodologies combined with skills in Pilates, yoga, dancing or cycling is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively instruct children and engage their interest in physical activity.
- Ability to create a safe environment while maintaining high energy levels throughout classes.
- Passion for health and fitness with a background in personal training or sports coaching preferred.
- Knowledge of fitness sales techniques is a plus for promoting ongoing participation or additional programs.
