Job DescriptionPosition Summary: The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee operations (including the receiving & handling, identification & organization, data collection, reconciliation, storage, inventory management, and distribution of telecommunications cable) at our warehouse in New Jersey. The Warehouse Supervisor will serve as site leader, be a hands-on coach/player to the Warehouse team, supervise/train the Warehouse staff, and coordinate with our vendor partners. The Warehouse Supervisor will also oversee procurement of resources for the warehouse (including labor, equipment, and supplies) and be responsible for creating/managing the appropriate documentation in maintaining inventory control. This position will be based onsite at our Newark, NJ warehouse and will report directly to the Sr. Operations Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Serve as site leader and be a hands-on coach/player to the warehouse teamSupervise and train warehouse staffOversee scheduling activities (including personnel) for all logistics processes from receiving to deliveryBuild and maintain positive relationships with vendor partners and customersTrack and document service providers’ performanceConfirm receipt of cables from receiving and organize accordingly within warehouseManage inventory (ensuring control and accuracy) and associated documentationInform management on status of operational performance and ongoing issues Ensure all service commitments (including quantity, quality, and timing) are metImplement strict security protocols and enforce to ensure the protection of cable at all stages of custodySchedule and consolidate outbound deliveries to achieve lowest possible transportation costsReinforce safety practices and maintain safe work environment Ensure appropriate safeguarding of equipment and cable to avoid injury or damageComply with safety protocols/environmental regulations/labor laws at all timesAssist with the creation of job protocols and ensure strict adherenceDevelop and manage operational KPIsMonitor operational performance through KPI reporting and data analysisIdentify efficiency opportunities and drive strategies/continuous improvements that will streamline processes and reduce costsPerform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in warehouse management, supply chain, transportation, logistics, or related business fieldMinimum of 2 years of managerial/supervisory experience Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize/supervise multiple projectsStrong analytical mindset with attention to detailPossesses strong written & verbal communications with all levels of management, time management, organizational and interpersonal skillsExperience in industry procedures, costs, and termsStrong ability to generate respect and trust from staff and key stakeholders (functional/cross-functional team members, customers, vendors) along with the ability to work collaboratively with staff/colleagues to create a results-driven, team-oriented environmentProficient with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)Strong desire to learn, develop, and expand professional skills for future leadership opportunities within the Operations functionPhysical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift and pull heavy objects weighing up to 50 poundsAbility to complete physical fitness test Demonstrated ability to drive a forklift and pass an internal forklift driving testRequired PPE: slip-resistant safety shoes, disposable coverall, mask, gloves, and safety vest.
