GIS Analyst/Drafting Specialist

We are a forward-thinking telecommunications organization seeking a GIS Analyst/Drafting Specialist to support advanced spatial data operations and fiber network management. This role combines GIS expertise, automation, and collaboration to drive efficiency and data accuracy across projects.

GIS Analyst/Drafting Specialist Responsibilities

• Execute advanced GIS and drafting assignments while adhering to organizational standards
• Provide mentorship to junior team members and support problem resolution
• Perform in-depth GIS analysis and automate workflows using Python scripting
• Support fiber network inventory, including splice updates and circuit path creation in Telecommunication-3GIS
• Design, maintain, and enhance GIS databases with strong knowledge of spatial data and topology
• Conduct spatial analysis and research to source and integrate relevant datasets
• Generate reports, maps, and diagrams for internal stakeholders
• Manage file outputs and ensure proper documentation and storage of project data
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define GIS data and application requirements
  
  

GIS Analyst/Drafting Specialist Qualifications

Required:

• Associate’s degree or relevant certifications
• 4 years of professional GIS or drafting experience
• Strong expertise in GIS platforms, spatial analysis, and database design
• Proficiency in Python scripting for automation
• Experience in telecommunications OSP environments and fiber network mapping
  
  

Preferred:

• Familiarity with AI tools to enhance scripting and workflow efficiency
• Experience with Telecommunication-3GIS or similar platforms
