Senior Power BI Developer

12-Month Contract (Possible Extension) | Brooklyn, NY | Hybrid

We are seeking an experienced Senior Power BI Developer to join a fast-paced, collaborative technology team focused on delivering enterprise-level business intelligence and analytics solutions. This role is ideal for a results-driven professional passionate about transforming complex data into actionable insights through advanced dashboards, reporting, and data visualization.
Senior Power BI Developer Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports for financial, operational, and enterprise reporting initiatives.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver end-to-end BI solutions, including ETL processes, data modeling, and advanced DAX calculations.
• Build and optimize enterprise data models using Star Schema and Snowflake Schema methodologies.
• Develop Paginated Reports using Power BI Report Builder and enhance report performance and scalability.
• Configure report security, user access, and deployment processes across development and production environments.
• Create geospatial visualizations, KPIs, and performance dashboards using Power BI mapping capabilities.
• Utilize SQL, PL/SQL, SSIS, and T-SQL for data extraction, transformation, and integration of complex data sets.
• Analyze data from sources such as Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics for segmentation and attribution modeling.
• Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies, support project tracking, and maintain technical documentation.
• Mentor junior developers and promote Power BI development best practices across the organization.

Senior Power BI Developer Qualifications
Required Qualifications

• 7 years of IT experience with strong expertise in Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, and Database Applications.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Power BI, DAX, Power Query, Power Pivot, and Microsoft Power Platform tools.
• Strong experience with SQL Server, PL/SQL, SSIS, ETL processes, and enterprise reporting solutions.
• Proven knowledge of SDLC methodologies, systems analysis, development, testing, and implementation.
• Experience working within Agile Scrum and Waterfall environments.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with geospatial data integration and visualization in Power BI.
• Familiarity with Azure, PBRS, SharePoint, Office365, and the Microsoft technology stack.
• Knowledge of predictive analytics, statistical forecasting, and advanced data modeling techniques.
