Position Summary:
The Loan Processor/Senior Loan Processor is responsible for managing mortgage loans from application through closing by collecting, reviewing, and verifying all required documentation to ensure files are accurate, complete, compliant, and closed on time. This role serves as the primary liaison between borrowers, loan originators, underwriters, lenders, and closing agents to coordinate all aspects of the loan process and resolve issues efficiently.
Top Job Duties:
- Manage a pipeline of 25–45 mortgage loan files from submission through closing.
- Review new loan files within 24–48 hours for accuracy and completeness.
- Collect, verify, and prepare borrower documentation including credit, income, assets, employment, and appraisal records.
- Order and track third-party services such as appraisals, title work, flood certifications, verifications, and FHA case numbers.
- Pre-underwrite loan files to ensure all supporting documentation meets underwriting and investor requirements.
- Submit complete loan packages to underwriting and clear all underwriting and funding conditions.
- Review loan applications (1003), disclosures, and approval summaries for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Communicate with borrowers, loan originators, underwriters, lenders, and closing agents to obtain missing information and resolve file issues.
- Coordinate closing dates, locations, and final document preparation to ensure on-time closings.
- Monitor pipeline aging reports and follow up on outstanding conditions to maintain deadlines and service standards.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and federal, state, and mortgage lending regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive borrower and company information.
- Troubleshoot complex loan issues and provide solutions to keep files progressing smoothly.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
