We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Assistant Project Specialist to join our team. If you've recently graduated with your Bachelors and looking for a great place to start your career this is a great opportunity. This is a fully onsite position in Akron OH.
You will collaborate closely with Project Managers, Financial Forecasting, and Regulatory teams to ensure capital projects are executed seamlessly and accurately. Core Responsibilities
- Accounting Compliance & Settlement: Determine correct project accounting settlement rules (capital, removal, O&M, voltage) and verify asset ownership to ensure accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
- System & Data Management: Create work orders and project accounts in SAP, audit and maintain master data integrity between SAP and PowerPlan, and request new project locations for tracking and unitization.
- Cross-Functional Project Support: Review project financials to help Project Managers transition projects into execution; collaborate with Asset Management, FERC/Wholesale, and Distribution teams.
- Forecasting & Reporting: Support monthly financial reporting, the Transmission Forecast Tool, and manage system entries for CIAC (Contribution in Aid of Construction).
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Communications, Construction Management (or related field)
- Preferred: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related discipline is highly preferred.
Technical & Soft Skills
- Software: Highly proficient with Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
- Systems Expertise: Proficiency with ERP/Fixed Asset systems a plus (SAP and PowerPlan experience is a massive plus).
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication capabilities to translate complex financial data for non-finance partners.
