Responsibilities:
- Assists in Surgery, place catheters, perform surgical clean up, instrument wrapping and sterilization.
- Perform dental cleanings and x-ray.
- Check in rooms and perform prescribed treatments.
- Assists the veterinarians by completing tasks such as performing x-rays, phlebotomy, collecting a urine/fecal sample, creating treatment plans (estimates), performing ear flushes, restraining animals, etc.
- Perform toenail trims and anal gland expressions.
- Complete doctor call backs and provide legally accurate medical record keeping.
- Administration of vaccinations and medications via various routes-SQ. IM, IV and PO
- Respond to client inquiries and rx refills.
- Run in house lab equipment. (We have Zoetis HM5, VS2, and Imagyst)
- Read in-house lab results such as ear cytology, fecal and urine samples.
- Hospital maintenance-laundry, stocking and cleaning exam rooms, ect.
- Help train and assist the technician assistants.
- Assist reception when scheduled or as needed (due to call out).
Skills and Basic Qualifications:
- Must have 3 years experience and be able to work full time.
- Must have excellent communication skills, work effectively and efficiently.
- Commitment to ongoing educational development and growth.
- Be enthusiastic, compassionate, an excellent communicator, professional, trustworthy, punctual and love smiling.
- Be able to handle the physical and emotional aspect of work in a veterinary clinic setting, including euthanasia.
- Provide excellent client and patient service. Be a passionate patient advocate.
- Communication Skills are a must. Must be an active listener, display critical thinking and problem solving skills, and have strong interpersonal skills working in a team environment.
Pay is commensurate with experience. No boarding, grooming, or overnights. Must be able to work rotating Saturdays.
