Cross View Early Childhood Center, a ministry of Cross View Lutheran Church, has an immediate opening for an experienced assistant director.

As a ministry of Cross View Lutheran Church, we exist to provide children with a place where their faith can be nurtured in a safe and secure environment while experiencing a wide variety of learning experiences.
A. Scope
The Assistant Director is responsible for supporting the overall leadership, daily operations and quality of the Center’s programs. This role demonstrates enthusiasm for the Center’s mission and maintains an unwavering commitment to the safety, well-being, and development of children.
The Assistant Director partners with the Director to manage the day-to-day operations of the program and must have a thorough understanding of Rule 3, health practices, and center programming. In the Director’s absence, the Assistant Director assumes responsibility for the management and supervision of the Center.
Key responsibilities include maintaining and enforcing Center policies, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, and promoting best practices to uphold a high-quality Christian learning environment. The Assistant Director works collaboratively with staff to foster a safe, supportive, and professional atmosphere for children, families, and team members.
B. Responsibilities
As a supervisor of the program, the Assistant Director will:
1. Support the director with daily center operations. Assume full responsibility for the program in the Director’s absence.
2. Develop and manage staff schedules.
3. Maintain compliance and monitor licensing logs and records in childcare management system.
4. Communicate effectively with parents and staff.
5. Develop and maintain positive relationships with current and prospective families, staff members, and community organizations.
6. Plan and attend school functions and actively engage with students, parents, and guests.
7. Stay informed on current research, trends, and best practices in early childhood education.
8. Actively supervise classrooms to ensure effective management, safety, and adherence to best practices.
9. Serve as a liaison among teachers, families, students, and community early intervention programs to ensure access to appropriate resources and support.
C. Qualifications
Candidates for the Assistant Director position must meet the following qualifications:
1. Hold a Christian faith and a calling to the Lord’s work. Model professional conduct and Christian values that promote a positive, respectful, and mission-driven work culture.
2. Previous experience as an Assistant Director or Director.
3. Meet all requirements to be considered Teacher Qualified in accordance with state licensing regulations.
4. Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills.
5. Be proficient in computer applications, including word processing, presentation software, internet use, and email communication.
6. Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and implement effective solutions.

7. Demonstrate strong communication skills.
8. Possess effective conflict resolution skills, with the ability to de-escalate situations, address workplace concerns promptly and facilitate constructive resolutions.
9. Demonstrate the ability to actively supervise classrooms and provide hands-on support as needed.
