Nuclear Project Scheduler I, II or III

A major commercial nuclear facility is seeking Project Schedulers at multiple experience levels to develop, maintain, and coordinate schedules for online, outage, engineering, and life-cycle projects. This position helps project teams maintain an accurate, integrated view of activities, dependencies, resources, schedule risks, critical paths, and upcoming work.

The strongest candidates will bring Primavera P6 scheduling experience from a commercial nuclear power plant, power generation facility, major capital project, outage, or similarly regulated technical environment. Candidates must be comfortable working directly with project managers, engineers, work-planning teams, and field stakeholders.

Location: Richland, Washington

Schedule: Monday through Thursday, four 10-hour days

Contract Duration: 12 month contrat with the potential to extend over 5-10 years

Pay Rate: $46.75-$111.25 per hour, depending on the candidate’s qualifying level, experience, and client approval

Per Diem: Eligible non-local contractors who maintain a qualifying tax home more than 100 miles from the facility may receive $216 per day, seven days per week. This represents approximately $78,840 in potential non-taxed per diem during the first 12 months, subject to eligibility and applicable tax rules.

Washington employees accrue at least one hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked. Based on a 2,080-hour year, this equals approximately 52 hours, or 6.5 eight-hour days, annually.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed schedules for nuclear, engineering, online, outage, life-cycle, and enterprise-risk projects.
  • Establish activity logic, durations, milestones, constraints, dependencies, and sequencing in Primavera.
  • Perform schedule maintenance and coordinate information between Passport and Primavera scheduling systems.
  • Work with project managers, engineers, planners, work-control personnel, and field stakeholders to build executable schedules.
  • Integrate project scope with site work windows, outage milestones, resource availability, procurement needs, and operational constraints.
  • Review schedule progress, critical path, total float, schedule variance, and emerging execution risks.
  • Update schedules using actual progress and current forecast information.
  • Identify schedule conflicts, missed handoffs, resource concerns, and activities that could affect project delivery.
  • Support daily, online, outage, and long-range planning activities.
  • Help resolve schedule adherence problems and recommend recovery or mitigation actions.
  • Maintain accurate, coherent, and timely schedule information for project teams and site leadership.
  • Develop schedule reports, look-aheads, milestone summaries, and management-level presentations.
  • Support business travel when authorized by the technical representative.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet at least one of the following education and experience pathways:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, or a related field from an accredited institution; or
  • Associate degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, or a related technical curriculum plus at least two years of technical-field experience; or
  • High school diploma or GED plus at least four years of technical-field experience.

Additional qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience developing or maintaining project schedules.
  • Working knowledge of Primavera scheduling tools, preferably Primavera P6.
  • Ability to evaluate schedule logic, sequencing, dependencies, critical path, float, and schedule risk.
  • Ability to gather progress information from technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work onsite in Richland, Washington on a Monday-through-Thursday schedule.
  • Ability to meet the facility’s site-access and badging requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Commercial nuclear power plant experience.
  • Nuclear refueling outage, online maintenance, plant modification, or engineering-project experience.
  • Experience maintaining information between Passport and Primavera.
  • Experience with resource-loaded schedules, long-range planning, risk mitigation, and schedule recovery.
  • Background supporting complex projects in an NRC-regulated facility.
  • Experience preparing schedule information for project managers and senior leadership.
