Assistant Pastor — Crosspoint Church (New Church Plant)

About Crosspoint Church

Crosspoint Church is a new church plant in High Point, NC, built on a simple but profound conviction: that God’s Word is inerrant, Christ is supreme, and the local church exists to make disciples who love God and love people.

Our vision is to lead people toward Christ so that His work may be done through His Church.

Our mission is to make disciples through biblical teaching, upward (non-performative) worship, and service to our community.

Crosspoint isn’t designed to be flashy or trendy — we’re building something more enduring:

a biblically faithful, theologically grounded, mission-driven community that lives out truth with love and conviction. We exist for the glory of God and the good of His creation.

We are currently in our launch phase, forming the founding leadership team that will shape the culture, structure, and ministry DNA of this new congregation. This is an opportunity to help build a church from the ground up — one committed to excellence, order, discipleship, and authentic worship.

About the Role

The Assistant Pastor will serve as the Senior Pastor’s primary ministry partner, sharing in both the pastoral and organizational leadership of the church.

This role blends discipleship, teaching, and pastoral care — supporting the Senior Pastor in preaching, counseling, and leadership development while overseeing the practical ministries that form the heartbeat of the church.

You will play a central role in developing small groups, volunteer systems, and lay leadership structures, ensuring that Crosspoint remains relationally connected and spiritually strong as it grows.

In a plant environment, flexibility and initiative are key — this is not a “maintenance” position but a foundational role in establishing the future culture of Crosspoint Church.

Key Responsibilities

Spiritual Leadership & Teaching

• Assist the Senior Pastor in preaching and teaching from Scripture with theological precision and clarity.

• Lead Bible studies, classes, and small-group curricula that foster sound doctrine and spiritual formation.

• Support the doctrinal purity of all teaching ministries under the guidance of the pastor and elders.

Discipleship & Pastoral Care

• Develop and oversee Crosspoint’s discipleship framework, including mentoring, small groups, and new-member pathways.

• Provide pastoral care through prayer, counseling, visitation, and follow-up with members and families in need.

• Serve as a visible shepherd in the congregation — approachable, grounded, and compassionate.

Leadership Development

• Identify and equip lay leaders to serve effectively in ministry.

• Help develop leadership systems that sustain growth without compromising doctrine or culture.

• Partner with the Senior Pastor to cultivate unity, accountability, and excellence among staff and volunteers.

Outreach & Community Engagement

• Support the church’s evangelistic and outreach efforts, including monthly service projects and local partnerships.

• Represent Crosspoint at community events, schools, and gatherings to build trusted relationships and gospel presence.

Organizational Partnership

• Attend and contribute to leadership and planning meetings.

• Assist in administrative or operational tasks related to ministry programming, communications, and logistics.

• Model teamwork, flexibility, and humility as part of a collaborative start-up church environment.

Qualifications & Expectations

• Spiritual Life: A maturing follower of Jesus Christ exhibiting the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22–23).

• Theological Alignment: Full agreement with Crosspoint’s statement of faith — Trinitarian, inerrantist, missionally Baptist in structure, and biblically conservative in doctrine.

• Education & Ordination: Ordained or licensed minister of the Gospel, or in active pursuit of ordination.

• Experience: Demonstrated background in teaching, discipleship, or pastoral leadership (church, para-church, or campus ministry).

• Skills: Strong communicator, gifted in biblical exposition and relational discipleship.

• Personality & Calling: Humble, disciplined, and mission-minded — comfortable operating in a church-plant environment that requires initiative, creativity, and endurance.

What We’re Building

Crosspoint Church is not a church of personalities or performances.

We’re building a ministry that is:

• Christ-centered: Every sermon, song, and act of service points back to Jesus.

• Biblically rooted: We don’t chase cultural winds; we anchor to timeless truth.

• Relationally authentic: We believe in walking with people through life, not talking at them from a distance.

• Missional in focus: Our city is our mission field; our worship fuels our witness.

The Assistant Pastor will play a defining role in cultivating this culture — helping us lay the spiritual and structural foundation for decades of faithful ministry in High Point and beyond.

Why This Role Matters

The early years of a church plant determine its theological direction, cultural tone, and spiritual health for generations.

This role isn’t about filling a slot; it’s about founding something sacred.

If you long to see a biblically faithful, intellectually serious, and spiritually alive church thrive in the Triad, this is that rare chance to help make it happen.

Why Join Crosspoint

• Opportunity to help shape a new, theologically solid church from inception.

• Collaborative leadership culture — servant-hearted, prayer-driven, truth-grounded.

• Close partnership with a Senior Pastor who values order, excellence, and discipleship.

• A community that believes in teaching truth lovingly, worshiping reverently, and serving generously.
