Job Summary
The General Laborer supports daily waste management operations by collecting, sorting, loading, unloading, and disposing of waste materials in a safe and efficient manner. This role helps maintain clean work areas, follows environmental and safety regulations, and assists equipment operators and drivers as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, sort, and separate recyclable and non-recyclable materials.
- Load and unload waste, recycling, and other materials from trucks or containers.
- Maintain cleanliness of work sites, transfer stations, and equipment.
- Assist drivers and equipment operators with daily operations.
- Operate basic hand tools and equipment safely.
- Inspect waste materials for prohibited or hazardous items and report concerns to supervisors.
- Follow company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Sweep, shovel, and perform general housekeeping duties around the facility.
- Support recycling and waste diversion initiatives.
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently while meeting productivity standards.
- Report equipment issues, safety hazards, or incidents promptly.
- Perform other general labor duties as assigned.
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
