Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and listen carefully to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections using automotive diagnostics tools and mechanical knowledge to identify issues
- Prepare detailed estimates using estimating software, explaining repair options clearly to customers
- Recommend additional services such as oil changes, tire service, brake repair, suspension work, or transmission repairs to maximize customer satisfaction and dealership revenue
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services
- Maintain accurate service writing records and process all transactions efficiently, including cash handling when necessary
- Communicate effectively with clients about vehicle repairs, progress updates, and cost estimates while ensuring excellent customer service throughout the process
Experience
- Proven experience as a Service Technician or similar role within an automotive dealership or repair shop
- Strong background in automotive diagnostics, collision repair, engine repairs (including diesel engines), and auto body work
- Familiarity with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools
- Knowledge of various vehicle systems such as air brakes, shocks & struts, alignment, suspension components, transmissions, and diesel engine repair
- Previous experience in auto service management or sales roles is highly desirable
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record to test drive vehicles when needed
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly to customers
