Lead Medical Technologist - Blood Bank

Job Overview
The Lead Medical Technologist, Blood Bank provides technical and quality leadership for daily blood bank operations under the direction of laboratory leadership. This role performs routine and specialized bench testing while overseeing quality control, regulatory compliance, staff training, competency assessments, inventory management, and workflow coordination. The Lead Technologist collaborates closely with laboratory leadership, physicians, nursing teams, and interdisciplinary partners to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient transfusion support.
Key responsibilities include supervising blood bank testing, coordinating CAP surveys, validating instruments and procedures, supporting Meditech upgrades and downtime readiness, monitoring transfusion activity at affiliated client sites, managing blood product inventory, reducing wastage, and supporting continuous quality improvement initiatives. This role also supports ongoing regulatory readiness for AABB, CAP, FDA, CLIA, OSHA, and Joint Commission standards.

- Minimum 3 years of full-time experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist
