Job Summary:

The organization is seeking a Step Down Cardiac Neuro Nurse for a night shift position in Evansville, Indiana. The position involves providing specialized care to post-procedure cardiac patients, including those with STEMI/NSTEMI, neuro conditions, and sepsis. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Location: Evansville, Indiana


• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.


• Required Qualifications: Current active compact license; AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications; at least 2 solid years of Step Down experience plus one travel contract, or 5 years of solid Step Down experience if no travel experience; recent Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience with EPIC; Associate Degree or Certificate.


• Preferred Qualifications: Experience interpreting Telemetry/12-lead EKGs, post-heart catheterization care including femoral access and vascular thrombin removal, initiation and titration of drips such as Cardizem, Amiodarone, Cardene, Nitro, Insulin, and Heparin, and strong neuro assessment skills including NIHSS.


• Additional Information: Every other holiday; float requirement includes floating within the same campus and to a nearby campus with a family notice of 2 hours for cross-campus float; no local candidates (40-mile radius rule).
