Job Summary:

A Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Surgical First Assistant is sought in Salt Lake City, Utah. The position involves supporting cardiac and thoracic surgeries, including procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve repair or replacement, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), and aorta repair, both open and endoscopic. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment.

Job Details:

• Location: Salt Lake City, Utah


• Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week


• Required Qualifications: Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA), Certified First Assistant (CFA), or Surgical Assistant - Certified (SA-C); at least 2 years of independent Endoscopic Vein Harvest utilizing either Terumo or Maquet 6 Pro; at least 2 years of Open Heart First Assist experience; valid license to be brought on the first day of work.


• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cardiac procedures such as CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR, thoracic surgery, and experience in a cardiac surgical setting.


• Float: Float: Float rotation may be required.


• Additional Information: The position is a 13-week assignment with a start date of June 30, 2026. The unit comprises approximately 2.5 cardiac operating rooms with staff shifts from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, and requires participation in weekend and on-call rotations. The role involves adhering to unit policies and guidelines, including weekend and on-call responsibilities.
