This role involves providing preoperative nursing services within a surgical center environment, supporting a variety of procedures, including same-day and overnight stays. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.
Job Details:
- Location: Wheeling, West Virginia
- Certifications: BLS Certification; license must be current and willing to wait if not immediately available
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of OR experience, with proficiency in IV skills, surgical care knowledge, robotics, and scrubbing required
- Schedule: Either five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts per week, with occasional midnight shifts supported by operational demands. Participation in weekend rotation and on-call schedule is mandatory, including one scheduled weekend shift and one secondary call day per schedule period.

- Additional Information:
- 50 mile radius rule, all submissions must include a copy of the candidates unexpired drivers license
- Cardiac procedures include common cases with all procedures encompassing same day and overnight stays, averaging 55-70 cases per day
- Weeknight/Call Requirement: 1-2 secondary calls per schedule, 24-hour call on weekends from 7A to 7A
- Weekend Requirement: Rotating weekends, including 8-hour shifts (7A-3P) on Saturday or Sunday, with 24-hour call coverage
- No mandatory call/standby time, but call response time is 30 minutes
- Scrub color/dress code provided by the facility
- Emergency Department EMR system: Sunrise (current), with EPIC to go live on April 1
- Charting System: Allscripts
- Division: Acute care setting, surgical center/preoperative area
- Cancellation Policy: Two shifts per 13-week contract
