Job Summary:

The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurse position is located in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. This 13-week assignment involves providing patient care during night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with rotating weekends and holidays. The role emphasizes safety, quality care, and team collaboration to support patient recovery and well-being.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week


• Required Qualifications: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification prior to first shift; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred for CIRH; at least 2 years of bedside clinical experience highly desired; no minimum experience required for this specific position, but relevant clinical background is beneficial


• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Progressive Care Unit or similar telemetry setting preferred


• Additional Information: Performs nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission, develops individualized care plans, and initiates discharge planning from the day of admission. Responsible for accurate documentation, patient teaching, and contributing to a safe and positive work environment. Assumes charge responsibilities following orientation and participates in team activities to promote effective patient care and staff collaboration. For optimal patient outcomes, actively pursues ongoing professional development and maintains communication with unit leadership regarding supplies, equipment, and clinical needs.
