Job Summary:

This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) within a healthcare facility located in Hilo, Hawaii. The role involves caring for patients in various post-operative phases, including pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recovery. The PACU nurse demonstrates advanced knowledge of anesthesiology and critical care to monitor post-surgical patients effectively. Candidates must be prepared to handle diverse shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Job Details:

• Location: Hilo, Hawaii


• Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week


• Start Date: 08/24/2026


• Required Qualifications: Valid professional license within the state of practice; at least 2 years of experience as a critical care registered nurse (e.g., ER & ICU) in a hospital setting; BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association; Hawaii license required by the start of the assignment; proof of flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exception required prior to contract start date


• Additional Information: Candidate must arrive the Thursday before the start date for employee health appointment. No guarantee of hours or shift preferences. Shift variations include 8, 10, or 12 hours across units such as ASU and PACU. On-call shifts may occur 0-3 times per month, including night and weekend/holiday coverage.


• Certifications (Recommended/May be required): Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); other specialty-related certifications such as NIHSS and TNCC are preferred and may be required for certain positions.
