Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in a surgical facility. This position involves providing direct patient care within all three areas of surgical servicespre-operative, operating room/circulator, and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU). The RN must have experience in all three areas and be capable of functioning as a primary caregiver across multiple roles. The role includes working on a rotational schedule that covers weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with occasional late days to complete surgical caseloads. Rotational surgical call averaging 1 to 2 days a week, with every other weekend or every third weekend off, depending on staffing.
• Required Qualifications: Current Colorado nursing license, minimum of 3 years experience in Pre-op, Operating Room (OR), or PACU, ACLS certification, and familiarity with technical procedures and infection control standards.
• Preferred Qualifications: CNOR certification, scrub experience, and interest in or knowledge of specialized procedures such as ophthalmology (cataract surgery), OB/GYN, and orthopedic surgeries.
• Additional Information: Responsibilities include conducting assessments, documenting care, providing emotional support, coordinating patient transfers, circulating cases, assisting with instrument processing, and patient education. Staff must adhere to infection control principles and national standards outlined by organizations such as the AORN, ASPAN, and others.
