Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Amarillo, Texas. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/02/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Med/Surg Nurse (MS) General Medical Surgical Floor Location unspecified. This position involves providing inpatient care to adult and geriatric patients within a busy hospital setting. The role includes monitoring telemetry, utilizing Epic charting system, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care. Job Details Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week. Required Qualifications: BLS certification, 1 year of inpatient Med/Surg experience, Epic charting system knowledge, valid state or Compact license in hand at time of submittal. Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge experience, dysrhythmia interpretation skills, understanding of PPE and isolation precautions, peripheral line care/management, nasal cannula management. Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week. Additional Information: This role requires float to units of equal or lesser acuity. The unit cares for adult and geriatric patient populations with a census of approximately 37 patients daily. Certification in BLS is required. Recent Epic experience (within 6 months) preferred. Must complete core onboarding items/labs within 48 hours of contract signing and onsite modules during orientation. 50-mile radius rule; no local candidates. All RTO must be listed at time of submittal. Previous staff must be approved by the facility to return.
