Job Summary

Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) in Lewiston, ME. This role involves providing specialized care for obstetric patients, including labor and delivery, postpartum, and neonatal care, within a Level 3 Trauma facility. The position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to comprehensive maternal and newborn health services.

Job Details

• Certifications required: NRP, BLS, ACLS, and AWHONN Intermediate (preferred).


• Education Requirements: Must have experience in labor and delivery (L&D), labor, delivery, postpartum (PP) care, and manage a three couplet assignment.


• Years of Experience: 2 years of relevant experience.


• Schedule: 6:45AM to 7:15PM (days) with a weekly guaranteed minimum of 36 hours.


• Responsibilities include triage of obstetrical patients, use of external fetal heart monitoring, managing IVs, administering antihypertensives and insulin drips, assisting with vaginal deliveries, recovering C-sections, assessing APGAR scores, newborn assessments, epidural pain management, postpartum care, and procedures.


• Must be able to manage a patient load involving neonates and adults, with patient ratios of 1:6.


• Unit features include the use of electronic fetal monitoring, Epic EMR, and Omnicell medication system.


• Additional notes: No first-time travelers, no pre-approved time-off per contract.
