Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) Location Unknown. The position involves providing comprehensive nursing care to obstetric patients, including assisting with deliveries, postpartum care, and neonatal assessments. The role requires collaboration across disciplines to ensure safe patient outcomes and support for both mother and newborn.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: WY Registered Nurse (RN) license or RN compact license; 2 years recent experience in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, OB/GYN, or Level 1 Nursery; ACLS, BLS, NRP, STABLE, and AWHONN certifications (must be attached to submission and through the American Heart Association); Valid certifications must be current and uploaded.
- Candidates may be required to float to other units depending on facility census, serving as helping hands or as sitters.
- Must have Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification and be able to attend fetal monitoring certification classes every two years.
- Experience includes caring for OB/GYN patients (post-op hysterectomy), antepartum, triage, labor and delivery, and postpartum care.
- Additional Information:
- Circulates during Cesarean sections and assists the physician as needed.
- Attends neonatal station in the Cesarean section suite and conducts complete assessments of neonates post-delivery.
- Follows appropriate policies during recovery and care of surgical patients.
- Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients and families.
- Evaluates learning needs of patients and families, providing education tailored to individual circumstances.
- Able to communicate necessary clinical information effectively to physicians and patients.
