Job Summary:
Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) registered nurses are needed at a facility in Anchorage, Alaska. This position involves working in a magnet-level trauma hospital with a level II trauma designation, accommodating complex cardiac surgeries and procedures. Candidates are required to bring their Alaska Registered Nurse license on the first day of orientation. This assignment starts immediately, with a scheduled shift of four 10-hour days per week.
Job Details:
- Location: Anchorage, Alaska
- Schedule: 4x10 Days (40 hours per week)
- Required Qualifications: Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license; certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); minimum of 1 year of cardiovascular operating room experience; experience with procedures such as atrial septal defect repair, coronary artery bypass graft (CABG), maze procedure, mitral valve replacement, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR); proficiency in Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system; ability to work 10-hour day shifts; ability to work 2 out of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year).
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) procedures and familiarity with infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, wound management, and universal protocol procedures.
- Additional Information: Candidate must be willing to work in a hospital setting, float within scope as needed, and include all requested time off (RTO) with submittal. All RTO must be included with submittal, and copy of certifications, specific Epic charting experience, and vaccination record for Hep B are required. References covering at least one year within the last three years are needed for compliance. No local candidates accepted; the candidates perm address must be at least 50 miles from the facility. Pending license acceptance is permitted with a strong preference for an active Alaska RN license.
