Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) in a medical center setting. This role involves providing high-quality obstetrical care during antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and neonatal phases to labor and delivery patients. The RN will utilize the Nursing Process to coordinate patient care, demonstrate clinical leadership, and adhere to hospital policies and state regulations in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Location: unspecified (general description as per organization guidelines)
- Shift Schedule: Days, from 6:30 am to 7:00 pm, with floating responsibilities required
- Required Qualifications: ACLS, BLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), STABLE certification, 2 years of Labor and Delivery (L&D) nursing experience, valid nursing license, no minimum experience in years specified (assumed 1 years)
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with MedHost electronic medical record, GE Centricity for obstetrics, and Athena for clinic management; experience in triage, active labor, postpartum care, and nursery care is ideal
- Responsibilities include caring for antepartum triage, active labor, postpartum mother and baby, and nursery patients; clinical leadership and critical thinking are essential
- Schedule: 12-hour days, 36 hours per week minimum
- Additional Information: Blocked scheduling, no call required, facility beds include 1 triage, 3 labor, 4 postpartum; patient ratio varies from 1:1 to 1:4; scope of role includes providing comprehensive obstetrical nursing care, maintaining competencies through continuing education, and supervising assigned staff
