Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Omaha, Nebraska. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 08/31/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary: Intensive Care Unit Nurse position available in Omaha, Nebraska. This role involves providing high-acuity care to critically ill adult and pediatric patients in a fast-paced, Level 1 trauma center ICU. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong critical thinking skills, teamwork, and a positive attitude to excel on this unit. Job Details: Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Required Qualifications: Valid driver's license; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), and NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certifications; at least 2 years of experience in ICU. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with trauma patients, intubation, and monitoring complex devices such as CVPs, IABP, Impella, Alines, and Swans; ability to interpret telemonitors. Float: Float rotation may be required to inpatient units excluding Maternity/NICU. Additional Information: Unit contains 18 beds with patient ratios of 1:1-2 in ICU and 1:4 in PCU. Patients primarily include adults and patients over 15 years old with trauma injuries, sepsis, stroke, ARDS, COPD, cardiac arrest, and related conditions. RNs are required to titrate drips including vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics. Shift management includes self-scheduling, managed by the unit manager based on needs. Weekend shifts: 4 per 6-week schedule. Scrub color: Navy Blue. RTO (Request for Time Off) must be submitted upfront for 7 or fewer days; no additional RTOs will be approved. The unit uses EPIC charting system and Draeger heart monitors. Candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with the organization, including affiliated health systems. This is a 13-week assignment with the possibility of hospital cancellation of up to 4 shifts.
