Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Hickory, North Carolina. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ED - Emergency Department Discipline: RN Start Date: 08/31/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Emergency Room RN Location: Unknown. This position involves providing critical care in a fast-paced emergency department setting. The role requires delivering high-quality patient care to a diverse patient population from birth to death, with a focus on trauma, stroke, and STEMI cases. Job Details Position Description: Emergency Room registered nurse responsible for managing a variety of acute medical emergencies, utilizing critical care skills, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. Required Qualifications: RN license, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, NIHSS certifications, minimum of 2 years of experience, general knowledge of Cerner electronic health record system, located at least 60 miles or more from the facility, and ability to work nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM 7:00 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week. Additional Information: Experience with strokes, STEMI, and trauma patients preferred. Candidates should possess excellent patient experience skills, critical care thinking, stamina, and personality traits such as energy and knowledge to thrive in a busy emergency department environment.
