Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) position in Bethel, Alaska. This role involves providing comprehensive respiratory care services to patients across all age groups. The selected candidate will ensure that patient care is delivered respectfully and with dignity, assisting in problem-solving in various aspects of patient treatment within a healthcare facility.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Graduate of an AMA-accredited Respiratory Therapy program or equivalent, approved by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), with at least one year of clinical experience in respiratory treatment of hospital patients. Valid credentials from the NBRC such as CRT, CRTT, RT, or RRT are required. Must have BLS certification; ACLS and PALS certifications are encouraged.
- Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Ability to read and interpret physicians' orders and hospital policies; effectively communicate with medical staff and patients; document therapies accurately; and perform respiratory treatments and procedures including airway management, ventilator operation, ABG procurement and analysis, chest physiotherapy, and patient suctioning.
- Equipment/Tools: Adult, pediatric, and infant ventilators; pulse oximeters; suction equipment; oxygen delivery devices; respiratory therapy medications; pulmonary function testing equipment; treadmill/stress testing equipment; EKG machines; Holter and event monitors; ISTAT arterial blood gas analyzers.
- Additional Information: Candidates must be prepared for orientation starting on a Tuesday. All travelers are required to show proof of completed COVID-19 vaccinations.
