Job Summary

Respiratory Therapist, Respiratory Therapist Registered, Grand Rapids. The Respiratory Therapist provides intensive respiratory care, patient transport, treatment evaluation, and patient education within the scope of professional licensure. The role operates and monitors respiratory equipment, performs respiratory procedures, and communicates patient information to support safe, effective care.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week.


• Responsibilities: Provides respiratory treatments using invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, nebulizers, and secretion-clearance equipment. Performs suctioning, oximetry, capnography, pulmonary function studies, 12-lead electrocardiograms, basic arrhythmia recognition, tracheostomy care, arterial punctures, endotracheal tube insertion and removal, mechanical ventilation management, and chest drainage. Assists with respiratory procedures, monitors patient responses, documents treatments, communicates clinical updates, and supports equipment maintenance.


• Required Qualifications: Professional respiratory therapy licensure and the ability to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) guidelines.
