Job Summary
A Radiation Therapist position is available in Winchester, Virginia. This role involves providing daily care to cancer patients, including accurate interpretation and delivery of radiation treatments in accordance with physician prescriptions and instructions. Job Details
- Location: Winchester, VA
- Specialty: Radiation Therapist (RTT)
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Virginia license or license status, at least 2 years of experience, certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA), and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
- Responsibilities: Checks prescriptions and charts, schedules patients, explains procedures, maintains communication with healthcare team, prepares treatment rooms and equipment, takes and verifies images, transfers patients to treatment couches, maintains patient markings, reinforces treatment care instructions, monitors patient reactions, adheres to radiation safety protocols, documents treatment doses, and sets up advanced treatment modalities such as IMRT and 3-D planning.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IMRT, 3-D treatment setup, and dosimetry documentation is desirable.
- Additional Information: No float requirements. The role involves direct patient care using electronic medical records (EPIC) and adherence to safety and documentation protocols.
