Job Summary:

Histologist in Aiea, Hawaii. This position involves performing histologic techniques, routine and special staining, and preparation of surgical and cytologic specimens. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Location: Aiea, Hawaii


• Schedule: Rotating shift hours, 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week


• Required: High school diploma or equivalent; two (2) years of recent work experience as a histology technician; Certified as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP)


• Preferred: Bachelors degree in a chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution


• Additional Information: Performs tissue embedding, sectioning, staining, immunohistochemistry, and quality assurance procedures. Operates and maintains histology equipment, manages laboratory computer systems, and handles administrative duties such as filing and tissue storage. Handles manual and repetitive manual motions; able to lift up to 35 pounds; works in a hospital/laboratory environment with potential exposure to hazardous chemicals and infectious materials.
