Your Role: As a Litigation Paralegal, you play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys throughout the various stages of personal injury cases. You will be responsible for conducting legal research, organizing case files, preparing legal documents, and communicating with clients and opposing counsel. Your attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and legal expertise will contribute to the success of our clients' cases.
Litigation Paralegal Responsibilities Include:
- Case Management: Assist attorneys in managing personal injury cases from intake to resolution, including tracking deadlines, court appearances, and discovery deadlines.
- Document Preparation: Draft, review, and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
- Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, providing case updates, answering queries, and assisting in gathering information.
- Discovery: Coordinate and assist in the discovery process, including document requests, responses, and reviewing and organizing discovery materials.
- Trial Preparation: Collaborate with attorneys to prepare trial exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
- Court Filings: E-file and manage court filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with court rules and procedures.
- Settlement Negotiations: Assist in settlement negotiations, gathering relevant evidence and preparing settlement documents.
- Deposition Support: Arrange and coordinate witness depositions, manage exhibits, and prepare relevant materials.
- Maintain Records: Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Legal Support: Provide general administrative support to attorneys, including file management.
Skills, Qualifications, and Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s or completion of an accredited paralegal program or related legal certifications are preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience working as a paralegal, with a focus on personal injury law and litigation.
- Legal Knowledge: Strong understanding of personal injury law and civil procedures.
- Technology Skills: Proficiency in legal research tools, case management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic filing systems.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients, attorneys, and court personnel.
- Organization: Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and priorities efficiently.
