We seek an eager individual to join our wonderful Food & Beverage team at The Whitby Hotel as a Part Time Back Server. The ideal candidate will be a trained professional who can provide top-level service that reflects the quality of our cuisine and overall dining experience. We are looking for someone who communicates well, is dependable, enthusiastic, and has a genuine passion for hospitality. The candidate should have strong attention to detail, a love for food and beverage, and the ability to read guests’ needs to ensure exceptional service and create memorable experiences.Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and professional appearance at all times.Greet guests warmly and support Servers in delivering an exceptional dining experience.Maintain strong knowledge of food, beverages, and daily specials.Deliver food and drinks efficiently and professionally, following proper steps of service.Prepare coffees, teas, and other beverages according to company standards.Communicate clearly with the kitchen, bar, and Servers regarding orders, requests, allergies, and dietary needs.Ensure tables are properly served, cleared, reset, and maintained with attention to detail.Keep service areas clean and organized throughout the shift.Follow all allergy protocols, sanitation guidelines, and NYC Health Department standards and regulations.Complete daily side work and maintain full mise en place for service.Demonstrate Firmdale Core Values and promote teamwork by assisting colleagues whenever needed.Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.Must be able to work AM/PM shifts, weekends, and holidays.Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.Skills & Qualities:Able to work well under pressure during high-volume service and multitask effectively.Neat, organized, and attentive to detail on the restaurant floor.Strong work ethic, consistent work habits, and a proactive attitude.Professional communication skills when interacting with guests and colleagues.Positive, enthusiastic team player with a polished and professional demeanor.Employee Benefits: Paid vacation, sick, and personal daysHealth, dental, vision, and life insurance plansCommuter benefitsHoliday parties and staff appreciation eventsComplimentary in-house uniform dry cleaningEmployee meals during shiftsWith 3 hotels in New York City and 8 in London, Firmdale sets a standard as a unique and exciting place to work.
