Brand Ambassador

 

Job Summary:

The brand ambassador facilitates effective communication, enhances the district’s public image, and fosters a sense of community and collaboration among all stakeholders involved in the educational process. Celebrate district success, administrator success, teacher success, and student success. This role helps fulfill the CUSD 50 Strategic Plan Goal #3: Communication and Community Relations.

Qualifications:

Overall evaluation rating of proficient or higher, consistently demonstrating effective teaching practice.

 

Evaluation:

The supervisor shall annually evaluate the team leader.  Such evaluation shall be reviewed with the team leader and made part of his/her permanent record.

Director of Public Relations and Communication 

 

Terms of Employment: 

This is a nine-month stipend position. Pending the review of school needs and the evaluation process, the term may be extended annually.

Expected Outcomes

  • Facilitate collaboration among staff members to highlight building success.
  • Increased engagement between families and the school community.  
  • Stronger sense of school and district community 
  • Supports the achievement of the District’s Communication Plan 
  • Showcase and celebrate, building successes and events.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Shares the vision of the district and shares responsibility for the district's success as a whole.
  2. Understands the district branding and the mission and goals of the district. 
  3. Establishes a relationship and open communication with the building staff. 
  4. Creates a weekly connection schedule with each grade level team on content to share publicly. 
  5. Develops training sessions with teachers regarding district branding, social media engagement, and best photography practices.
  6. Serves as the building social media point of contact. 
  7. Develop a posting schedule. Minimally, post 4 times per week that include 3-4 photos, engaging text, and one emoji. Always use #HarvardRising and the specific hashtag associated with your school. 
  8. Incorporates appreciation days throughout the year in social media posts. 
  9. Posts to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Live Feed.  
  10. Engages staff and community in posts that support district and building initiatives with information, celebrating achievements, and giving the public a glimpse into the classroom. 
  11. Promotes and protects the school’s brand image and reputation by ensuring consistent messaging. 
  12. Models support and encourage colleagues to engage with social media. 
  13. Collaborates regularly with other building brand ambassadors to share ideas and strategies for engaging staff and the community. 
  14. Meets monthly with the Director of Public Relations and Communications to review social media statistics and adjust strategies based on the data. 
  15. Participates in the district train-the-trainer model to facilitate professional development for teachers. 
  16. Review past content from previous years to understand the district and school’s “voice”. 
  17. Share progress and updates with the building principal quarterly.
  18. Attends and actively participates in monthly Professional Development with the Communications Department and other Brand Ambassadors.

  • Must demonstrate a record of effectiveness in their own teaching
  • Must have earned the recognition and respect of their colleagues
  • Must have excellent planning and organization skills 
  • Must have the ability to work collaboratively with others before, during, and after school hours as needed 
  • Must have strong verbal communication skills 
  • Must be willing to commit to the role for the entire school year 
  • Must model a strong commitment to continual improvement
