Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency calls, providing essential pre-hospital care to patients in diverse settings.
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine the severity of injuries or illnesses.
- Administer basic life support (BLS), medication injections, and other emergency interventions following established protocols.
- Manage airways effectively through airway management techniques and utilize advanced equipment when necessary to ensure unobstructed breathing.
- Conduct triage at the scene or hospital entry points, prioritizing patient needs based on injury severity and medical urgency.
- Transport patients safely to hospitals or trauma centers while monitoring their condition continuously during transit.
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient care, vital signs, procedures performed, and medical history using proper aseptic techniques and medical terminology.
Requirements
- Valid EMT certification with current licensure recognized by relevant health authorities.
- Proven experience in critical care settings, hospital environments, or emergency medicine with a focus on patient care.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, venipuncture, and medication administration.
- Experience with Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is highly preferred; familiarity with emergency room procedures is a plus.
- Demonstrated skills in airway management, vital signs monitoring, physical examinations, and injection administration.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks required during emergency responses and patient transport.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with emergency vehicle operation is advantageous.
