Main Shop Technician

Cronic Chevrolet GMC of Griffin, GA is currently seeking a full-time Main Shop Technician. Cronic Chevrolet GMC is part of Cronic Automotive Group.

Position Responsibilities

The Main Shop Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining customer vehicles in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards. This position is ideal for an experienced technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, accuracy, and efficiency.

Responsibilities include:

· Performing vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance

· Diagnosing drivability, electrical, mechanical, suspension, brake, HVAC, transmission, engine, and other vehicle concerns

· Performing warranty and customer-pay repairs

· Completing repair orders accurately with clear cause and correction notes

· Communicating findings and recommendations to service advisors and management

· Using manufacturer service information, diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and dealership systems

· Performing inspections and identifying needed maintenance or repair items

· Maintaining a clean and organized work area

· Completing work in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards

· Following all safety procedures and dealership policies

· Continuing training and staying current with manufacturer repair procedures

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should have:

· Automotive repair experience required

· GM experience preferred, but not required

· ASE certifications preferred

· Ability to diagnose and repair vehicles accurately and efficiently

· Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic ability

· Ability to use scan tools, service information, and shop equipment

· Strong attention to detail

· Ability to work well with service advisors, parts personnel, and management

· Must have your own tools

· Must be at least 18 years of age

· Must have a valid driver’s license

· Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
