Job description
The Owner Representative / Controls Project Manager will lead all aspects of Data Center construction controls projects. Controls PM position requires business management vision and proven leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as strong communication and ability to facilitate smooth collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Provide thorough verbal and written technical guidance to control integration partners deploying SCADA and PLC systems.
Developing and troubleshooting FactoryTalk applications.
Developing and troubleshooting Ignition applications.
Developing and troubleshooting Rockwell PLC programs.
Modbus, BACnet, VLAN (sub-networks), Cisco switch configuration
Experience with Schneider Electric PowerSCADA.
Support onsite commissioning of electrical switchgear and mechanical cooling equipment.
Create documentation to improve and standardize data center controls execution processes. Including creating new specifications and updating existing.
Provide verbal and written feedback to internal teams to drive continuous product improvements. Including creating bounty bugs that include a problem statement with a proposed solution.
Travel to construction sites (~2 trip a month) to audit quality, provide feedback, and technical guidance to site controls vendors.
Remotely troubleshoot and solve high priority site issues as they arise.
Work with various onsite teams to ensure they are adhering to best practices, maintaining asset trackers, updating checkout sheets, and are executing high quality work while remaining on schedule.
Escalate critical items (cost/schedule/scope) to Regional Controls TPM as required.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
8 or more years of Controls experience
Quality and Commissioning oversight
Strong knowledge of construction
Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E and OSHA Standards
Strong negotiation skills and a proven track record of problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or an equivalent degree.
5 or more years of work experience in data center construction management.
Knowledge of LEAN Construction principles and their application.
Preferably, experience managing multiple large-scale construction projects, particularly in mission-critical or infrastructure domains.
