Role Description The Associate Attorney at Law firm will provide day-to-day legal support across the organization, with a focus on commercial operations, labor and employment matters, and regulatory compliance. This full-time, on-site role is based in San Antonio, TX, and involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, policies, and legal documents. The Associate Attorney will conduct legal research, assess risk, and deliver practical, business-oriented legal advice to internal stakeholders. Responsibilities include supporting HR on labor and employment issues, assisting with internal investigations, and helping to develop and maintain compliance programs and training. The role also includes coordinating with external counsel when needed and maintaining organized documentation and records for ongoing legal matters.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law, with the ability to interpret and apply statutes, regulations, and case law in a manufacturing and commercial context.
- Experience or coursework in Labor and Employment Law, including advising on workplace policies, employee relations, and compliance with applicable labor regulations.
- Proven ability to provide clear, practical Legal Advice to business stakeholders, balancing legal risk with operational goals.
- Excellent Research skills to analyze complex legal issues, prepare memoranda, and support policy and decision-making.
- Effective Negotiation skills for contracts, settlements, and other agreements with internal and external parties.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in Pennsylvania, or eligibility for prompt admission.
- 1–3 years of relevant legal experience (in-house or law firm), preferably with exposure to manufacturing, industrial, or related sectors.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and clear drafting abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
