Instructional Coach
Primary Purpose
The Instructional Coach supports teachers in improving instructional practices to increase student learning and achievement. This position serves as a lead learner who works collaboratively with campus administration, teachers, and staff to strengthen classroom instruction, implement effective teaching strategies, and foster a culture of continuous professional growth.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five (5) years of successful teaching experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university (required)
- Valid Texas teaching certificate (required)
- Master’s degree preferred
- Must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting check prior to starting employment (non-refundable fee paid by employee)
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Deep knowledge of effective instructional strategies, curriculum development, and assessment practices
- Ability to analyze student performance data to inform instructional decisions
- Experience in mentoring, coaching, or leading professional development for teachers
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and staff
- Ability to model lessons, co-teach, and support teachers with classroom implementation
- Strong organizational and facilitation skills
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Leadership & Collaboration
- Collaborate with the principal and leadership team to support school improvement initiatives
- Lead and facilitate weekly professional learning communities and campus professional development sessions
- Assist teachers in setting instructional goals and developing plans for professional growth
- Support a positive campus culture focused on student achievement and continuous learning
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Instructional Support
- Provide job-embedded coaching through classroom observations, feedback, and reflection conversations
- Model effective instructional practices and co-teach lessons to support teacher growth
- Assist with curriculum planning and alignment to state standards
- Support teachers in using assessment data to guide instruction and meet diverse student needs
- Research and share best practices to improve teaching and learning
- Mentor and support new teachers as they transition into the classroom
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position will not directly supervise any employees. All school employees have some responsibility for supervising students and assisting in maintaining a safe environment. However, this position requires evaluating teacher performance and providing feedback.
Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and climb stairs. The employee must maintain emotional control under stress, and occasionally work prolonged and/or irregular hours. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 35 pounds. The employee must be able to use appropriate restraint techniques in the event it is necessary to keep student(s) safe. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The work environment is a standard office setting including standard office equipment (fax, copier, phone, computer, 10-key, etc.).

Salary information
Compensation is concurrent with the 2025–2026 Crockett ISD Compensation Plan. Salary is based on the CISD teacher pay scale and the step level of verified years of experience.
