Croaker is an established, well-respected HVAC company launching a residential plumbing division this summer. We're not starting from scratch — we already have a loyal customer base, a full back office that handles dispatch, scheduling, and billing, and a marketing engine feeding warm leads from day one.
We're hiring one licensed lead plumber to be the face of this launch. This is a founding seat. You'll run calls solo at first (we line up helpers from our existing team as the work grows), and as the division scales you'll help shape how it runs and who joins it.
The job is to serve. Every home you walk into is someone trusting you with their house and their money. Your first question is always “what's best for this customer?” — not “what can I sell?” Take care of people that way and the revenue, the reviews, and the repeat business follow. We've built our whole reputation on it.

What you'll do
- Serve the customer first. Listen, understand what they actually need, and treat their home like it's your own.
- Diagnose and repair residential plumbing: water heaters (tank & tankless), drain cleaning, water treatment/softeners, fixtures, faucets, toilets, and (later) slab leak detection.
- Present options the right way. Walk every customer through clear Good/Better/Best choices, explain the “why” in plain terms, and let them decide. No high-pressure — just honest guidance.
- Sell and install — you own the job from the front door to the final test. Quality work, clean job sites, photo-documented every time.
- Recommend memberships and upgrades only where they genuinely help the customer.
- Earn 5-star reviews by leaving every home better than you found it.
What we're looking for
- Active Texas Journeyman Plumber License in good standing (Master a strong plus). You'll work under Croaker's Responsible Master Plumber.
- 5 years of residential service plumbing experience.
- A service consultant with a servant's heart — serves the customer first, presents options honestly, earns the sale without ever pushing. This matters as much as your wrench skills.
- Able to run a full service/install workflow independently (helpers provided as the schedule demands).
- Valid Texas driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Professional, customer-first attitude — you represent the Croaker name in people's homes.
- Pass a background check and drug screen.
What you'll earn — a producer's seat
Your income is mostly in your hands. This role is built for a plumber who wants to be paid for what they produce, not by the hour.
ON-TARGET EARNINGS
$85,000 – $115,000 / year
Uncapped and commission-driven — top producers earn $120K . You will have a set hourly base for any non-service/install related work but we will pay commission on total invoice amount.
- Commission-driven pay on every service and install job you run — the more you sell and install, the more you make, with no cap.
- You earn on every ticket from the first dollar — no “too small to count” thresholds.
- Sell it and install it yourself, keep the full commission. Bring in a helper and the commission splits to cover the extra hands.
- License-advancement support and bonuses as you grow toward your Master license.
