Serves as a member of the multidisciplinary teams with inpatient floors and outpatient oncology team. This full-time position will serve as an inpatient and oncology dietitian.
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive. The dietitian will report to the Food and Nutrition Director.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates knowledge of current medical nutrition therapy, therapeutic diets, dietetic products, and standards of practice, based on sound scientific principles.
- Performs nutritional screening and comprehensive nutritional assessment
- Develops, facilitates, and evaluates the nutritional care plan for all assigned patients
- Provides medical nutrition therapy to patients receiving enteral nutrition support.
- Monitors patients receiving parenteral nutrition, assists with management as needed, and provides recommendations for transitional feedings
- Follows all guidelines as outlined within the Company Diet Manual and the Clinical Nutrition Policies & Procedures Manual
- Complies with all regulatory standards including federal, state, and accrediting agencies while adhering to facility confidentiality, HIPPA regulations, and patient rights policies
- This position is an on-site, day shift schedule and will share on call weekends duties with dietitian team.
Oncology Responsibilities:
- Provides nutritional services to cancer patients in an outpatient setting across the continuum of the cancer experience
- Identification of cancer patients at nutritional risk
- Provision of appropriate medical nutrition therapy for patients actively undergoing cancer treatment, primary prevention, secondary prevention, cancer recurrence, palliative care and community education
- Collects, summarizes and reports data regarding patient care related to nutrition services
Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree in Dietetics or Food and Nutrition from an accredited university if graduated before 2024. If graduated after 2024, Master’s Degree required from an accredited university
- Current Licensure in Georgia as a Dietitian/Nutritionist.
- A minimum of one to two years’ experience in clinical/oncology dietetics in a health care facility. (preferred)
- Working knowledge of CBORD and overall diet office functions (preferred)
- Effective communication skills.
- Current knowledge of nutrition therapy.
Salary commensurate with exprience. Range is $51,937 to 80,516 annually.
