What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Operations Assistant position at CRM Construction?
This role is ideal for someone who likes variety, takes initiative, and thrives in an environment where responsibilities evolve. You will function as the central support hub for office administration, job-site compliance, internal communication, record keeping, and operational coordination. You should be comfortable switching between administrative tasks, compliance duties, and problem-solving throughout the day. Responsibilities include:
Office & Administrative Management
- Manage communication, document handling, and general office organization
- Maintain company records, forms, permits, and databases
- Prepare reports, letters, and internal documents as needed
- Assist with scheduling, meeting coordination, and vendor communication
Construction Operations Support
- Track field employee hours and job assignments
- Maintain job-site compliance documentation (safety plans, permits, logs, DOB/DOT filings, inspections)
- Assist with purchasing materials, tools, and equipment
- Monitor and maintain inventory of job-site supplies and office supplies
Compliance & Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate driver files, safety documentation, and compliance forms
- Assist with NYC DOB/DOT filings and other regulatory requirements
- Track expiration dates for licenses, permits, and safety certifications
Project Assistance & Research
- Conduct research on materials, vendors, insurance requirements, and regulatory rules
- Assist with bid preparation, subcontractor outreach, and project documentation
- Support management with general business tasks and decision-making as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable taking initiative and figuring things out independently
- Experience in construction admin or operations preferred but not required
- Proficiency with MS Office, email, and general office systems (training available)
- Professional communication skills

Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
