Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care for animals in our facility, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. This role requires a love for animals, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Kennel Assistant will assist with various tasks related to animal care and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for dogs and other animals, including feeding, bathing, and exercising.
- Maintain cleanliness in the kennel area by cleaning cages, kennels, and common areas.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to owners and vet if needed.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their animals' needs.
- Assist with giving baths as needed.
Skills
- Experience in dog handling and animal care is preferred.
- Knowledge of veterinary practices or previous experience as a veterinary technician or assistant is preferred.
- Familiarity with pet grooming techniques is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills to effectively interact with pet owners.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger animals or moving equipment.
- Experience in kennel settings or similar environments is advantageous.
