Position Summary:
Perform non-invasive routine technical support services under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider.
Essential Duties:
* Prepare patients (clients) for and assist physician in medical examinations.
* Performs patient care tasks, procedures and interventions authorized by a valid healthcare provider's order.
* Collects and processes specimens for testing per healthcare provider's order.
* Collects, documents and reports patient data, care and treatment, and health status in a timely and accurate manner.
* Administers medications and technical support services within scope of practice and agency procedure.
* Maintains safe, hygienic environment within medical facilities.
* Provides patient education.
* Safely and properly uses all medical equipment.
* Ensure patients fulfill all outside medical appointments, transporting as necessary.
Pay Range: $22.40-$25.76 per hour.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
* Must have successfully completed an approved course of study as a Medical Assistant.
* Must possess and maintain valid Medical Assistant Certificate.
* BLS/CPR for Healthcare Providers and Certificate of Blood Withdrawal from a California BVNPT or Medical Assistant -approved provider within sixty days of hire.
Additional Requirements:
* Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted California driver's license and current vehicle insurance.
* Bi-lingual proficiency in Spanish is required for Shelter Care campus; strongly preferred and additionally compensated on Residential Treatment Campus.
