What are the responsibilities and job description for the MEP Solutions Engineer, Commercial Data Center Design position at Critical Project Services?
The MEP Solutions Engineer will manage and drive the direction the entire team including the electrical and cooling components and related systems for complex projects, such as data centers. The incumbent will analyze the energy performance of each project and coordinate and support the commissioning process. Specific responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the ability to work with limited supervision in corporate, remote, and home offices, as well as project site locations.
The MEP Solutions Engineer must be a flexible and adaptable team player who possess and demonstrates effective communication and broad client service skills. The expectation is for the experienced Solutions Engineers to provide guidance and further development the internal team in the overall design and construction of data centers. In addition, the Solutions Engineer’s skills will be further utilized as a Subject Matter Expert across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities
- Subject matter expert in mission critical space.
- Review Design Documentation to guide the design team concepts while implementing CPS/Integra specific design and equipment.
- Review and analyze the mechanical schedule and flow diagrams.
- Review and analyze the electrical single line diagram and drawings.
- Assist internal team with creating mechanical flow diagram and single line electrical diagram by reviewing and providing guidance and training.
- Review documents, quotes, and drawings to create electrical and cooling designs
- Evaluate systems, products, components, and applications
- Create conceptual designs from information gathered at client meetings
- Oversee Commissioning Process, as needed.
- Bachelor degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering and/or Architectural Design; Master’s preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite products
- Experience with Electrical Systems (UPS, PDU, Generator, Switchgear)
- Experience with Cooling Systems and Controls
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD MEP, Procore
- Knowledge of MEP systems, emphasis in cooling and electrical installations
- 6 years in design, project planning, construction and commissioning
- PE, EIT, CEM, LEED certification is a plus
- Knowledge of design process and building for mission critical/data center projects
