One of our customers is seeking a skilled IT Systems Administrator to serve as the hands-on operational backbone of the organization’s technology environment. This is an execution-focused role for someone who takes pride in keeping systems running reliably, resolving issues quickly, and making employees’ technology experience seamless.
You will work closely with company leadership, an outsourced IT support provider, and Critical Path Security, and a fractional CISO. Strategic direction and vendor oversight will be provided at the leadership level — your focus is on day-to-day operational execution: keeping systems healthy, endpoints managed, users supported, and documentation current.
This role carries a clear growth path. As you demonstrate ownership and capability, the expectation is that you will grow into broader technology leadership responsibilities — and compensation — over time.
Systems Administration
• Manage and maintain Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
• Administer Microsoft 365 environments, including user lifecycle management, permissions, licensing, and security controls.
• Support identity management, MFA enforcement, and access governance.
• Ensure systems remain secure, stable, and well-documented.
Endpoint & User Support
• Provide hands-on support for employees across desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
• Manage device lifecycle including provisioning, patching, and maintenance.
• Serve as the first point of escalation for technology issues that outsourced support cannot resolve.
• Improve day-to-day reliability and user experience across the technology stack.
Infrastructure & Operations
• Assist with network troubleshooting, system monitoring, and performance issues.
• Coordinate with outsourced IT support to ensure tickets and issues are resolved promptly.
• Maintain thorough documentation of systems, procedures, vendors, and architecture.
• Flag infrastructure risks or gaps to leadership and the fractional CISO.
Security Support
• Execute security tasks assigned by the MSSP and fractional CISO.
• Assist with vulnerability remediation, patching, and access control reviews.
• Ensure day-to-day operations align with security policies and HIPAA requirements.
• Escalate security concerns promptly through appropriate channels.
• 3 years in a systems administration, IT support, or infrastructure role
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 administration (users, groups, licensing, Exchange, Teams)
• Experience supporting Windows endpoints in a business environment
• Comfortable coordinating with Managed Service Providers or outsourced IT teams
• Strong troubleshooting skills across systems, endpoints, and basic networking
• Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical staff and leadership
• Experience in healthcare or other regulated environments
• Familiarity with HIPAA security requirements
• Experience with Microsoft Intune or other endpoint management platforms
• Exposure to MSSP or SOC workflows
• Familiarity with cloud or SaaS-based environments
