This role will focus on developing novel coatings from lab-to-scale to address customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop novel coating platforms, test metrics, and design experiments by working in a lab-based environment with minimal day-to-day guidance.
- Develop hypotheses and conduct experiments to improve understanding and performance of coating technology by coordinating with various team members.
- Communicate technical advances internally with other members of the company and interact with external vendors, independent testing laboratories, and customers to explain and troubleshoot application of the technology.
- Support scaling of coating from lab or pilot scale to a manufacturing environment.
- Collaborate with sales or technical service to address customer requests.
- Expand coating portfolio by innovating on current coating technology and developing new coating platforms.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or associated technical field is required.
- Fluency in Mandarin, Spanish, or German preferred but not required.
- Some international and domestic travel required.
Required Skills
- Experience in product development and engineering.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with coating technologies.
- Familiarity with laboratory testing and scaling processes.
