Job Description & Requirements

- $1935.00 per week, Net take home. Paid Weekly.
- First Day Health/Dental/Vision Benefits through UHC.
- 13-week contract
- Night shift (7:30p-7am)
Med-Surg Nurses provide care for primarily adult patients pre- and post-surgical procedures; they also
attend to those who are being treated with pharmaceuticals to manage acute and chronic illnesses.
Responsibilities Include
- Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans
- Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse
- Educates patients on surgical procedures
- Records patients’ medical information and vital signs
- Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment used on patients, and interprets and record electronic displays
- Initiates corrective action whenever the patient displays adverse symptomatology
- Provides bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients
- Initiates patient education plan, as prescribed by physician. Teaches patients and significant others how to manage their illness/injury, by explaining: post-treatment home care needs
- Changes dressings, inserts catheters, starts IVs
- Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient
- Responds to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards and protocol
- Participates in discharge planningBecause patients need round-the-clock care, working hours include days, nights, weekends andholidays.
- Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than (100) pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Fine motor skills/visual acuity
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Current nursing license, in good standing with the State licensing board
- Minimum of two (2) years Med-Surg experience
