Job Summary:
As the General Manager of Criterium-Kessler Engineers, a consulting engineering firm, you will play a key role in driving the strategic direction, operational excellence, and overall success of the company. You will oversee all aspects of the firm’s operations and engineering, which includes project management, financial performance, and team leadership. You will partner with the company owner to provide leadership to drive the company and team to the next level and positively impact company growth.
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to align with the owner’s vision (and help shape it as the company changes), have a strong background in engineering, combined with exceptional leadership, communication, and business acumen skills. We are seeking a leader with a life-long learning orientation who can develop and implement processes to drive efficiency and financial growth/profitability. The selected candidate should also be able to create and enhance a collaborative environment to meet the needs of a fast-growing client base that has come to trust Criterium-Kessler Engineers for their specialized engineering consulting requirements.

In this role you would be a critical member of not only the Criterium-Kessler Engineers team, but to our clients who rely upon us to provide quality consulting engineering to solve problems and issues for which we are uniquely qualified.

Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership – leadership and management of team members; ensure engineering and operations team members are efficient and meeting goals and project requirements;
- Team Development – Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement; recruit, train, and develop engineering and operational talent necessary to ensure firm has the skills and expertise to succeed; ensure talent is the right fit for the company
- Strategic Planning – work collaboratively with the ownership to develop and then execute strategic plans to achieve business objectives and drive sustainable growth; identify market trends, opportunities, and potential risks to inform strategic decision-making; work closely with the owners to increase sales, service diversity, and opportunities
- Daily collaboration with the owner to create strategic direction with resulting firm growth
- Relationship Building – build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and industry partners; attend business development events and engage perspective clients
- Project Management – oversee successful execution of engineering projects from inception to completion; monitor project performance, identify issues, and implement corrective actions as needed; ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards
- Financial Management – manage firm’s financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting; optimize profitability by controlling costs, maximizing revenue, and improving operational efficiency, implement sound financial practices and risk management strategies
- Compliance and Risk Management – Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, affiliate standards, and industry standards; identify and mitigate potential risks to the firm’s reputation, financial health, and operational continuity; implement policies, procedures, and controls to maintain a strong culture of ethics and integrity
- This is not a remote job, some travel may be required to the Las Vegas office
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, management, or equivalent
- PE license not required, but would likely benefit the selected candidate
- Impeccable interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Humble team player who can lead by example, is self-accountable, and proactively collaborates with the team and clients
- Proven self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

- United States citizen and legally authorized to work in the United States with a valid Arizona driver’s license
- Proficiency in software and technology/computer skills to include MS Office skills (Word / Excel/PowerPoint) and project management software
