The Opportunity
We're looking for a skilled CNC Milling Set-Up Operator to join our Milling Department on a schedule — Monday through Thursday, 6:00am–4:30pm; Fridays: 6:00am–12:00pm. You'll take programs, set tools, prepare machines, and own the process from first article approval through production completion. This role demands precision, initiative, and someone who understands that quality isn't a checkbox — it's a standard.
What You'll Do
- Set up CNC milling machines per supervisor direction; document tooling and processes on set-up sheets
- Take programs, set tools, and prepare machines for production runs of close-tolerance precision components
- Obtain first article QC approval before releasing to full production
- Perform CNC and manual milling, drilling, tapping, deburring, and related operations
- Load parts, monitor cycle times, and recommend process improvements
- Inspect machined components and document results to ensure conformance to print
- Interpret engineering drawings, apply GD&T, and perform G-code and interactive programming
- Assist with tooling management and inventory
- Identify and report defective materials or out-of-spec conditions to management
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with safety procedures
- Flex to other work areas as production demands require
What We're Looking For
Required:
- High school diploma or technical/vocational school certificate
- Minimum 1 year of CNC milling experience in a precision manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in CNC milling set-up and operation
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing (GD&T)
- Working knowledge of G-code and interactive CNC programming
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools — micrometers, calipers, gauges
- Strong math skills and attention to detail
Preferred (you'll stand out):
- 2 years of CNC milling set-up experience
- Experience with Fanuc F01MD, HAAS, and Brother C00 Controls.
- Background machining small, tight-tolerance precision components
- Experience with microscope inspection on small or intricate parts

Pay: $24.79 - $29.85 per hour
