Position
Criterion is looking for a dynamic self-starter to support the VP of Sales in all early stages of the sales process. The Inside Sales Development Associate is responsible for generating new business, fostering client relationships, and promoting the company’s services. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of prospecting techniques, construction project phases, and related scopes. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to support clients throughout the full project lifecycle, with a team-first oriented attitude. This position has the potential to evolve into a broader role based on performance. This role is a hybrid, based in Sacramento, CA, with an expectation of a minimum of 1 day a week in person.
What You’ll Do
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the VP of Sales in day-to-day coordination and management of business sales activities
- Lead Generation & Prospecting: Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the electrical construction market.
- Pipeline Management: Maintain and update CRM systems with accurate lead data.
- Client Qualification: Qualify leads by determining needs and assessing potential for fit
- Sales Support: Prepare vendor quotes, proposals
Finance
- Submitting expense reports and processing incoming receipts
- Collating and updating budget/financial spreadsheets
Other
- Monitor and manage sales operations to meet company goals
- Maintain clear and accurate sales documents/procedures for reference purposes
- Coordinating internal and external meetings for Sales team
- Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on construction trends, materials, and competitor activities.
Qualifications
- 2 years of relevant experience (e.g. sales, business operations, construction, etc.)
- Strong business development and networking abilities
- Ability to systematically work through complex problems to reach desired outcomes
- Professional communication to ensure effective collaboration with internal departments and external partners.
- Bonus: Experience in data center construction, full-cycle project management, Method.me, and Quickbooks
